My Mom and ALL Her Siblings....

Back Row: Sallie, Jack, Frannie, Junior, Patty

Front Row: Jennie, Lucy, Judy, Arlene (My Mommy :), Nancy and Jean

Is that alot of siblings or what? I cant even freakin imagine being the youngest of all of them and being beat up that much!! I mean I only had Chris and Dickie and I barely survived!!! Poor Aunt Patty... I feel for the girl. Next time I see her... big hugs!! Even bigger than usual!! I may even give Uncle Jack a little extra big hug because hes 2nd youngest. I remember them 2 being teenagers when I was younger and lived in Milwaukee and going to Grandpa and Grandma Miers house for visits and sleepovers. They were pretty cool. They put up with alot from us nieces and nephews.... to be honest... with so many of us.. they all put up with alot. Except Junior.... I have only met him once before in my life. His wife calls him J.R. I thought that was cute :)

Cousin David, Uncle Butch (Dave), Auntie Nancy, and Cousin Debbie
Of all of them I am closest to Aunt Nancy. Shes the only one that lives up in the sticks with us. Shes also married to my Uncle Butch ( Dave) who is also my Daddys brother. Debbie is my closest and dearest cousin. I am only a month older than her. We were together alot growing up. We dont ever see each other anymore but I have many fond memories of out childhood. You see... Debbie (along with their whole family) lived next door to our other grandparents... Grandma and Grandpa Demmith. So when we were at the grandparents house.. we would see Debbie and family too. Anyway.... one memory still haunts me about visiting the farm where Auntie Nancy took up some cowing or farming or whatever you country folk call it....oh boy. I stayed over ONCE and that crazy Aunt of mine came into the bedroom where I swear.. Debbie and I had JUST fallen asleep after giggling and story telling til God knows what time.. we were 13...we had alot to talk about.. anyway.. my crazy Aunt came into the bedroom at like 4 am and announced it was time to milk the cows... Now I am a big city girl (Marinette has a population of atleast 11,000 - thats big right?) I dont live in freakin COLEMAN (whos population is like 100). I didnt know it was big news to announce SHE was going to milk her cows. So in some sweet and innocent tone, I'm sure, I told her to knock herself out...BIG MISTAKE!! Can you all guess where my bumm was 10 minutes after I made that mistake? Yeah... in the barn... looking at cows bumms...lots of them. Like a million, I swear. I only had my one pair of shoes with me and I dont own BARN CLOTHES and she wanted me to go where and do what? This may come as a shock to all of you who remember teenage Cindi but... she didnt get much work out of me but she sure knew I was there.. I complained and whined and tried to explain to her that I didnt sign up for this.. I mean... big city girl..remember? Unlike my own Mom, she wasnt falling for my act and work or not.. I was staying in that barn til I was excused to go START BREAKFAST with Debbie.. Now I had to cook stuff too... That was the last time I slept at Auntie Nancys. I went back to visit but NEVER stayed over night!!
Thats enough for today.. tomorrow.. I will introduce you to another one of my Mommys siblings...who will it be??? HMMMM
Love u all!!
Cindi :)

Its Been a While!!

Wow...alot has happened since August!! Within the next couple days I will get you all caught up.

The most important thing, of course, is my Mom had her surgery and is a fighter and a survivor!! It was an awful experience... we almost lost her but shes a tough little lady and an awesome fighter and fought her way back to a newer healthier Mom. The surgery itself went great. Everyone was very pleased with how well she did but then.... things took a turn. She developed pneumonia and subsequently went into Congestive Heart Failure. She was on life support and it was scarey. We were told she was in rough shape and had a 50/50 chance of surviving. I know that sounds like fairly good odds but trust me... when they say that to you about your MOTHER...those odds stink!!!

But thats behind us now and Mom is still here with me... I mean us and thats all that matters now.

I am still laid off...yeppers....3 1/2 months....I havent had this much time off since I was pregnant with Greg and hes gonna be 22 in December. So much has happened.. its kind of a good thing I was off... if you want to know whats been going on.. check back each day.. I will share something new each day...ok...I may skip a day here of there... but with in the next week or 2, I will get you all caught up.

Stay tuned :)

My Mom

Hello All

Todays blog is all about my Mom... the wonderful woman who was lucky enough to give birth to me. I'm sure it didnt hurt at all because well.. she got me in the end... lucky her. LOL.

Actually I am the lucky one. Shes a great Mom and I love her to pieces.

Well my Mom hasnt been feeling the greatest and has to have major surgery on Sept 2nd to bypass her aorta and restore blood flow to her legs. She had a nasty test last week where they made an incision in her arm and injured the nerve to her right hand and now she has lost feeling in her fingers in her dominate hand.. Darn Test!! Anyway... the damn test determined that Arlene has major blockage in both her legs so a bypass is neccesary... Please pray for her. The good news is that the good Dr said this test is 100% gauranteed to allow her to walk again like any other healthy 60 year old woman. That is very exciting!!!

Anyway.. My Mom took me to get this picture taken a bit ago and its the only picture I have of us together... gonna have to work on that. But I wanted you all to see how pretty she is ;)

I will keep you posted on how shes doing... she has alot of dr appts before the big day to make sure shes ready for surgery...

On another note... Did I mention my baby boy is moving out... me sad.. Dave happy... BUT... I get a bigger scrapbooking room. That makes it worth it... Sorry Greg.. Mommy loves you babe!! But get out while I am still laid off and have time to make the room MY OWN...

Yes, its true... I am laid off again.. I know... Bummin...NOT!!!! Love paid vacation in the summer time... its awesome ;)

Love you all

Yes, its been a while.

I know, its been a long time and soooooo much has happened since then!! I went back to work .. WOO HOO... And got laid off again yesterday... GRRRR. Only for about 6 weeks I hope. Which means Jared is stuck with Mom for most of the rest of his summer vacation from school. Lucky boy!!

I am going to start posting more and sharing my scrapbooking with you all. You see, My dear son Greg is leaving the nest and it BREAKS MY HEART!!!! So to make me feel better, I am taking his LARGER ROOM and turning it into my scraproom. This tiny room I currently occupy will in the near future be Daves new hang out.... well him and the cats. Those little buggers are always in there!!! I will post pics when we are all settled. Then I will regularly post pics of my cards and scrap pages and of course the life and love of the Olson house will be known by all.

I WILL MISS THESE GIRLS NO LONGER!!!

Wednesday March 12, 2008

*******UPDATE*********************

I am going back to work on Monday!!! Woo HOO

Monday March 10, 2008

I miss my job. I only worked there for 3 months before they gave me a raise on Tues February 5th and laid me off on Wed February 6th. I guess that extra $.60 per hour was gonna break the Lloyd Flanders bank...LOL. We were told that it would most likely last until the end of March at the latest and its now March 10th, so hopefully I wont be sittin on my butt eating bon bons much longer. I really like sewing cushions and laughing with the girls. They crack me up!!

This is Connie. Connie and her hubby are good friends with my Aunt Nancy and Uncle Butch. Connie sounds like my Aunt Nancy-it makes me laugh. Connie is very very smart!! She can fix anything I screw up, well thats if I were to screw anything up....which we all know-I WOULD NEVER SCREW ANYTHING UP ;)

This is Susie--they all call her Dawn because thats what her Mommy named her- but I have always known her as Susie(cause thats what her Daddy called her) since I was a little girl and she was friends with my parents. Actually Susies brother Larry and my Dad were best friends for as long as I can remember... Larry passed away last year and I am sure him and Dad are still catching up and laughing in Heaven.

Now these two, Jenny and Nancy, where do I start? First of all, if you see them coming and have to go potty, run the other way. They will surely make you laugh and wet ur pants and you dont want to do that at the beginning of a ten hour shift!!! LOL These 2 are trouble!! Dont they look like trouble?? Remember this picture because I will surely be talking about them alot once I get back to work.
Thats enough for today.

We have 2 new famiy members!!!

Hello Everyone :)

Ok, so its been awhile and some folks have actually took the time to email me and kindly request that I take that picture of Grandpa Blocks broken head off the front page of my blog and replace it with something more pleasant so here u go....

These are our new cats. The grey one is Smoke. Smoke is Kates cat that has to stay with us because her step dad doesnt want a cat at his house. Smoke is a very soft and cuddly little boy but like the other males in this house he can clear the room with his FARTS!!! OMGoodness... its awful!! Good thing hes cute!! Chyna (the remaining original cat) wouldnt mind if Smoke fell off the face of the earth because Smoke is ... well lets just say he reminds us of a certain little cat (Chyna) that use to TORMENT Azia (God rest her beautiful sole) when we first brought her home from the shelter. She would attack Azia constantly. Well Smoke is Azias revenge... sorry Chyna.

Now this little sweetheart is Frak. Frak is the cat that Dave picked out for the Olson family. Do you think Frak looks like someone? Maybe he looks a little like AZIA?? He is the sweetest most cuddly cat ever. He doesnt bother Chyna. He is waiting for her to warm up to him. He loves to play and he loves attention and hugs and cuddling. We love him. Hes the best and he doesnt FART!!! Hes very furry, not nearly as furry as Smoke but still very soft and we are very happy to have both of them in our home. They make life fun.

One more thing....

IS IT EVER GONNA STOP FREAKIN SNOWIN THIS YEAR??? I have had enough!! We got another 11 inches today....grrrrrrrrr!!

Have a great day!!

Heres Grandpa Block

Hello All

As you can see, I went to see Grandpa Block yesterday. He was up in a wheelchair when I got there but later decided the excitement of seeing me wasy WAY TO MUCH and he needed a nap.
While he was napping, I snapped a pic of the docs handy work, used to save his life. Gramps is gonna appreciate these pics when hes home and back to his OLD NORMAL self. Well, he actually never was normal or steady on his own 2 feet, so if the docs are waiting for him to gracefully stand up and be steady, they have a long wait!! His family claims he babbles about strange stuff from days gone by, for instance, when I was there he was talking about scanners and graphs and the like (sure sounded like LE Jones babble to me and Becky-and we all know how WELL I did on the LE Jones Machining test--I FAILED!!) Since he felt the urge to inform me about graphs and scanners, I was thinking maybe he isnt completely himself but then he told me I looked like I lost weight and I knew the mans mind is as clear as a bright sunny day. Let him out, hes ok!!! But Becky, Larrys daughter Linda and my son Greg disagreed and Gramps is still in patient at Rennes East. Doesnt he look excited? Atleast I have it on record that I thought
the man was completely with it already. My way of thinking may have been slightly swayed when he told us he was born before his Dad passed away but then I remembered the MAN SAID I LOST WEIGHT and I came back to my senses ... the man is good to go. Look at him in his chair>>>>>

Hes happy to see me. The pics a little blurry but he is clearly ready to break out.

OK, maybe hes not ready to physically come out of there but mentally, the man is all there. So what if he thought a picture of Linda was her daughter Jessica, we all make mistakes!! After all the fella said I LOST WEIGHT!!

OK, so I havent lost weight but I am seriously thinking of trying to loose weight. Maybe he can now read minds and is going to be a world famous phychic. I will keep you posted on that.

Til next time.

Way To Go Gramps!!

Let me just say that Grandpa Block is amazing!! He was in the worse shape ever a week ago and today he was released from the hospital. He has to go to a nursing home (Rennes East) but he's alive and he is trying to communicate. I will get a better update once I get to see him. I havent seen him since he bumped his head. The above photo is of Gramps and Greg in September of 1987. Making Greg about 9 months old. Greg and Kevin are sooooo lucky to have such an awesome person in there lives. I couldnt be happier that he is still here for them to enjoy!!

My Stud Muffin (Dave) turned 47 on Thursday....

Happy Birthday Honey!!!

I got a raise on Tuesday and on Wednesday Lloyd Flanders laid me off. Wasnt that nice? At the rate I was working for the past 2 weeks, I might as well get unemployment. How we can go from 56 hours a week (those checks were awesome and I quickly got use to them) to 32 hours a week....... I dont know..... but I do know it hurt the pocket book!!

Dave and Katie each have picked out new cats at the animal shelter. We have to take Chyna to the vet for a couple shots on Monday and then 2 new cats can come home. I will surely post pics when our 2 new members finally come home!!

Thats enough for now.

And it just gets worse.....

Hello Everyone!! Thanks for checking on us.

2008 is proving to be a challenging year for the Olson/Block household. Yesterday, Friday Feb 1, 2008 Greg and Kevins Grandpa Block fell and hit his head on Main St in front of the Globe. His brain was bleeding and they did surgury in Green Bay and said there was no activity last night after surgury (which isnt good!!). They give him a 10 % chance of surviving and if he survives he will most likely be a vegetable. I just talked to my son Greg, who was at the Hospital with Gramps all night, and he said Gramps is reacting to pinches and the sound of his brother, Georges voice on the phone. This is hopefull but I am reminded of my Aunt Carol who it seemed was responding to voices and touches but in the end it was just a reflex and she passed away. We are keeping Larry in our prayers. Dave and I are both very appreciative of all that Larry has done for Greg and Kevin. He is an awesome Grandpa. He was an awesome Father In Law. I was very lucky to have his support and love when I was married to his son. Gramps proved to be the male role model my sons needed when I was a single Mom and their Dad was MIA. I will keep you all posted on Larrys condition.

Other than that, my wonderful Hubby has a birthday coming up on thursday Feb 7 (he will be 47) and I have absolutely NO IDEA what to get him!!! So if you see Dave on thursday.. wish him a happy birthday or if you feel ambitious, give him a call on his cell and sing to him, he would love that :) If you need his cell number, email me or call the house phone and I will gladly share it with you.

Last weekend my Aunt Lynn brought her grandson, Kaden over to see me. Kaden is Shays baby. Hes a year old and cute as a button. I will post pictures later this weekend. Thank you Aunt Lynn for sharing him with me!!

We had another one of those aweful snow storms this week. Jared had 2 1/2 snow days this week. He got out early on tuesday and didnt go back until Friday and then.....can u beleive... Friday was rewards day for good behaviour and he went bowling and to McDonalds and to the movie theater ....that was his school day... They didnt have school like that when I was in Marinette Middle School!!!

Well enough for now. I will post more later.

Our Family Is In Mourning!!

Hello Everyone

We have experienced a great loss in the Olson household. Our beloved feline favorite, Azia Mae Olson passed away on Thursday January 24, 2008 in the loving arms of her biggest fan, Dave. He was taking her to the vet for an after hours emergency consultation (Kate was driving, Mom was working) and she died on the way there. We suspect her humongous beautiful heart finally gave out. Not only was she the MOST GORGEOUS CAT EVER, but she was the sweetest. Anyone could do anything to her and she would just take it. She would never ever even consider hissing or nipping at anyone. She was precious. She was totally responsible for getting me over my feline phobia. I was never a cat person until Azia came into our lives. She was 5 years old when we adopted her from the Hiltons and we had her for about 9 years. I guess that makes her about 13 or 14 now. We were previously told by the vet that she had heart issues and we have unfortunately seen her health slowly deteriorating over the past few years. But she didnt seem sick enough to go yet. We will all surely miss her!!

Snow AGAIN!!

Hello Everyone

Can you believe it snowed again last night? Did I mention how tired I am of snow? This winter surely reminds Dave and I of winters when we were young. The happy snowmobilers (every member of our family but ME!! Including Kate) are loving all the snow. I try to play along but its depressing. LOL

Well I know I promised to post pics of Jared doing something besides playing video games on friday (his snow day) but......

THATS ALL HE DID!!!

Just kidding. He just didnt do the shoveling like I had planned. He went to his friend Spencers house and we didnt see him again until Saturday afternoon. But next time.....

My fearless Mouse Slayer has caught 2 mice. Good job Honey!! Keep up the good work! I hope thats all we have. Now that the chocolate is all safely tucked in a glass candy dish with a cover, they must be starving!! This whole mouse thing is freaking me right out!! Its so creapy. I am afraid to move anything anywhere in my house..... for fear of finding a little rodent.......uhg. Our home is 105+ years old, therefore bound to have mice.... or so I am told by everyone. I cant believe how many people out there think that having a mouse in the house is normal.... no big deal...... just what happens in the winter in Wisconsin. I can tell you this much, there is gonna be a major decluttering going on in this house this spring!!

Kevin is moving into his own apt on Friday (well with his Dad). Anyone with any extra household things your looking to get rid of, hes your man!! Hes all grown up now.

We didnt do much last weekend as Dave had to work all weekend. I went with my Mom and Chris to see Vi (Toms Mom) in the nursing home on Saturday. Shes doing great. She has a broken leg and is working on her recovery so she can come home.

On Sunday I stayed home all day. We watched the Packers loose to the NY Giants. That wasnt fun. But theres always next year.... GO PACK GO!!

Til next time, take care and stay warm!!

Snow Day!!!

I just wanted to show you what Jared Olson thinks hes gonna do all day now that Mother Nature gave him a 3 day weekend...... Well I have news for him. I will post pics later or tomorrow of what I have planned for him and he wont be horizontal when he does it let me tell you!!
I am sooooo sick of snow. Its not even pretty anymore. I see Greg is already gone snowmobiling. He just got done working at 5:30 this morning and was gone before Dave and I got up at 6:45 am. Waupaca is working this weekend which means Dave and Greg are working and boy is Greg gonna be tired -- playing all day..... working all night.......NO SLEEP!! Mom doesnt like it when he does that....... I know he's young but he's still my baby.
Mouse Slayer (Dave, my hero) got another one. Thats 2 for Mouse Slayer and 0, Zilch, Nada, Zippo for the TWO cats that rule this house....... Whats wrong with this picture? My friend Penny suggests we stop feeding them, that way they will get the mouse. Thats not gonna happen of course because those 2 little girls RULE THIS HOUSE!! I hope the 2 Slayer got already are the end of them. I refuse to be in that bedroom without him protecting me..... EWWWEEE Gross!!!
I am going to try to participate in an online scrapbooking crop this weekend. It that actually happens, I will post pics next week.
Have a great day!!

Theres a mouse in my house!!

Well there was mouse in my house before my fearless mouse slayer (Dr Dave) saved me :) It was in our room eating Daves chocolate stash....ewwwwweeeeee!! And where were the 2 cats that we feed daily and pet on command you ask? Please note above photos. Azia is sitting on a chair under the table, shes kinda old and doesnt even bother to go upstairs anymore and Chyna is on the back of the sofa in her usual spot. She comes upstairs to tell us shes hungry every morning ....... PERHAPS SHE COULD HAVE EATEN THE DANG MOUSE!! The problem here is, we as a family are too good to these 2 little girls!! But we love them so they can stay... but Mickeys relatives have got to go. One down and hopefully no more to go but IF there are more than one in this 105 year old home, my Mouse Slayer will save me :)
Have a great day!!
Cindi
PS: Thanks Ray for the advice on external speakers for my MP3 Player. I am going to look into that, well I am gonna have your lil bro, Mouse Slayer, or my son Greg figure it out for me!!
PSS: Also please note that I added the photos all by myself as Gregory is sound asleep on the sofa right below Chyna!! It needs a little tweeking (I want the pics in the body of my post, not all at the top) and I am sure Greg will help me with that.... SOMEDAY!!

Thanks for the MP3 player BUT........

Hello Everyone!!!

My friend Sue and family gave me an MP3 player for Christmas on Sunday. She was gone to the UK (which is where she is originally from) on Christmas so we finally got together on Sunday to have our holiday together (sorry again.... no camera...grrrr-that is so not me at all!!). Anywho, I have been wanting an MP3 player since I started at Lloyd Flanders because I have a hard time getting a radio station to tune in on the radio at my machine. So I came home and immediately wanted Greg to get the music on his computer and put it on my new toy...... well he yapped about needing sleep and going to work 3rd shift at Waupaca and not having time for Mom but promising to do it first thing Monday morning. OK. So I waited and like a good boy he brought his music out and I put some awesome tunes on my new player..... I was excited..... I was gonna listen to Kenny Chesney all night and I was gonna love it........ So I got to work and sat down and got my tunes going and I am just a singing away when I hear "Cindi, whats that in your ear?" It was our fearless leader, Dan. I happily showed off my new gift and said "its an MP3 player" with a huge smile on my face.... I was so proud. Then Dan said "oh NO NO NO, not in here"...... obviously we cant have our hearing obstructed at work :( So its back to the scratchy radio that plays High School basketball games everynight and I dont even like basketball!! Its not just on 1 of our local channels either its on 2 of 3 therefore, I have to pray hard that the last station will be nice and actually tune in for me in that old cement building....

I really do love my new job though :) I will post some pics tomorrow related to Lloyd Flanders!!

Herb Garden Anyone????

Hello Everyone!!

Look at that I posted 2 days in a row!! I am turning over a new leaf, you wait and see. You will all know more than u ever wanted to know about the Olson/Block household. It gets interesting thats for sure!!

Anyway........ When I typed that title I knew my friend Sues SO's (significant other), Robert, ears just perked up. I am absolutely positive without a doubt he has all the answers to my needs on this one ....

I want to start and Herb Garden and start using fresh Herbs........ Where do I start? Any suggestions?

Also, I wanted to mention my new job at Lloyd Flanders. I am in the union and off of probation on Saturday January 19th. That will be a relief. That means I am in. I love the job, really I do. I would prefer 1st shift but with overtime, the money is really good and I LOVE TO SEW!! I get scrap fabric that is awesome. I now know how to sew cushions and pillow of many kinds. I will have to take pics and post them........as soon as Greg teaches me how to post pics......my house is gonna be full full full of pillows everywhere!!!

Til next time...

Happy Birthday Kevin And Grandma Demmith!!

Good Morning!!!

Well it was a busy weekend. Kevin turned 19 and Grandma Demmith is now in her 60's as of Saturday January 12, 2008!! Well Grandma just turned 60 but I am trying to get use to saying my Mom is in her 60s. My how time flies!!

We took Grandma out to eat at Brothers 3 along with my sister Chris and her boys. It was fun BUT......

The Olson family (well Dave and Cindi) have decided that Brothers 3 no longer has the best pizza in town....... its different now. Not drastically different but different enough to loose that elite status of "BEST PIZZA IN TOWN". That crown will now go to: (drumroll please)........

DEXTERS!!!

Oh My Gosh is it yummy!!! My tastebuds are going crazy just thinking about it!! If u havent tried it and your a pizza person ... like myself.......TRY IT!!

I really dont get to enjoy it as much as I would like because my children (crazy offspring) prefer Dominos or Pizza Hut and they prefer just plain ole CHEESE pizza!! Is that nuts or what? Dr Dave (hes not really a Dr but he plays one at home.....Get ur mind out of the gutter!! I meant he is quick to give us cold meds when we have a cold and a tylenol when we have a headache and so on!!!....... What were u thinking?????) anyway where was I??? Oh yeah........Dr Dave and I prefer atleast sausage and pepperoni on our pizza. Dave also loves fungus but he goes without because his lovely wife cant stomach them....... what a guy!! What are the chances that we would have 4 kids combined and they ALL love just cheese pizza? Scary!!

Anywho...... we took Grandma for pizza and then we had to rush home because in case you hadnt heard........THERE WAS A FOOTBALL GAME ON!!! A very important football game of which the GREEN BAY PACKERS WON!!! Woo hoo. We are pretty excited about that but nervous as well, after all, theres another game this weekend to get thru!!!

Speaking of football games, thats where the birthday boy was.......In GB for the football game. Not actually at the game but in GB with his Dad enjoying the festivities.

SOOOOOOOO we had to celebrate his birthday yesterday (Sunday). I made him a cake and lasagna (his favorite). It was all good. Then he texted me at like 2 am (he was either at work or just getting home from work) and woke my butt up to inform me the cake was yummy and to thank me for it.....um....... Thanks Kev, but honey, maybe next time u can save that message for the morning??? Thanks Sweetie :)

Before Kevs funtime at our house, we went to Sue and Amys for lunch and gift exchange. Robert cooked another yummy meal... thanks to all involved :)

I need to start taking my camera with me places like I use to do. Then I could have photos to share with everyone of all our fun. Look at all the fun (scrapbooking oppurtunities) I missed out on!! We (Dave, Greg, Jared and myself) went out to the Beaudos and went snowmobiling the last weekend after Christmas and if I would have brought my camera I could have had some awesome photos to share with you of that including but not limited to my HUGE, GIGANTIC, EXTREMELY PAINFUL BRUISE I acquired when I fell off the sled of which I was driving with Jared on the back. Dont worry, hes ok!! It took a little persuading to get him back on with me tho... he was gonna walk back to the Beaudos house...HMMMMMM. But I didnt soooo.......just imagine it :)

I could also share my photos of pages as I scrap them. I love love love scrapbooking!!

Well thats enough for today. I will try to update more often and I will have Greg teach his mommy how to put photos in her posts once I start taking photos that is.......

Take Care!!

Cindi

PS: WILL IT EVER EVER STOP SNOWING?????? I am so sick of snow this year!! Its like when I was a kid snowing all the time but no snow days yet!!!
